SISTER RAVIE F. SINGLETON

Ravie Singleton

We are thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ that Sister Singleton received salvation by repenting of her sins, being baptized in Jesus’ name, and calling on the name of Jesus until He filled her with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.  Since that day, she became fit for the service of the Lord Jesus Christ and never looked back!

Sister Faye Singleton was a woman of many hats in our church.  She served as a long-time member of the Senior Choir, Friendship Ensemble, Horace M. Johnson Chorale, Pastor’s Aides, and the Missionary Band.  She also served as Choir Director, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Assistant Principal of Vacation Bible School, Director of the Voice of Salvation publication, and faithfully led our Sunday Morning Prayer Service.  Faye was also highly creative and artistic, serving at times as Play Director, Prop Designer, Vacation Bible School Art Teacher, and designer of beautiful decorations and floral arrangements for special events.  Sister Singleton was exceptionally talented, and we are so very thankful for her willingness to share her talents with the Saints.

Although Sister Singleton endured health challenges, she continued to run for her life and kept Jesus first in all she did including faithfully paying her tithes and offerings.  She was very punctual and purposed to be on-time for all services.  Every project she started; she was committed to seeing through to completion.  She would not quit until it was done right.  Just one day before the Lord called her home, she was singing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ and leading our Annual Outreach Service via Zoom.

Sister Faye Singleton’s deep contralto voice, artistry, leadership, punctuality, and joyful personality will be greatly missed at Friendship.  We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will comfort and sustain her family during this time and invite others to leave any words of encouragement in the comment section.
