BROTHER JACKIE SINGLETON, SR.

IMG_0944.heic

Friendship Apostolic Church of God, Inc. announces the passing of our dear brother, Jackie Singleton, Sr., beloved husband of the late Sister Ravie Faye Singleton, father of Elder and Mother Jackie Singleton, Jr., and grandfather of Brothers Jayson and Brennan Singleton.  Brother Jackie Singleton, Sr. joined the church in 1986 and found out something wonderful.  Jesus saves!  He learned that we must all be born again of water and of the Spirit, to see or enter into the Kingdom of God.  Brother Singleton was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and did hunger and thirst for salvation, calling on the name of Jesus until he was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.

Although Brother Singleton was known for his quiet demeanor, he found joy in serving the Lord Jesus Christ on the Usher Board, singing in the Male Chorus, and serving as the Male Chorus Vice President.  We fondly remember Brother Singleton singing his Male Chorus song, “When I call on the Lord, He will come to my rescue.”  During previous Men’s Day services, Brother Singleton would also teach the young male junior ushers, how to conduct themselves during service.  He continued in these roles until his health began to fail.

Brother Singleton had a great love for his family and was known for his unwavering support for his son and namesake, Elder Jackie Singleton, Jr., often making his way to service to hear his son preach and most recently, supporting the dedication and installation of his son as Pastor of One Way Apostolic Church of God, in Prince Frederick, MD.

Brother Jackie Singleton, Sr. will be truly missed by the Saints of Friendship Apostolic Church of God, Inc.  We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the time that He allowed us to be in fellowship with our brother and we pray for the Singleton family, that the Lord Jesus Christ will comfort, sustain, strengthen, encourage, and keep them during this time of great loss.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
